Mosel Vitelic designs, manufactures, and markets dynamic RAMs (DRAMs), Flash and slow, low power static RAMs (SRAMs) for worldwide markets. The Company provides DRAMs for specific applications, such as PC graphics, with unique performance attributes, including fast access time and memory organizations that are optimized for graphic acceleration applications. Mosel Vitelic also assembles its DRAMs into memory modules. Mosel Vitelic was created by the merger of two private companies: Mosel (an SRAM and advanced logic product manufacturer) and Vitelic (a DRAM and Video RAM manufacturer), in December 1991. Both Mosel and Vitelic were founded in 1983, and the combined Company's revenue has been growing steadily, to $880M in 2000.
Mosel Vitelic main memory DRAMs are manufactured at ProMOS Technology Inc., in Hsinchu, Taiwan, using advance CMOS, 0.17 micron process technology. ProMOS is a joint venture 8-inch/12-inch fab between Mosel Vitelic and Infineon. The specialty DRAMs are manufactured in the 6-inch fab, also located in Hsinchu, using 0.35 micron technology. All DRAMs are assembled and tested at ChipMOS, a Mosel Vitelic subsidiary.
Mosel Vitelic has a distributor/sales representative network which includes sales offices in Germany, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States. In addition, Mosel Vitelic has over fifty manufacturer sales representative offices.
Mosel Vitelic headquarters, design center, product engineering and manufacturing are in Hsinchu Science Based Park, Taiwan.
